Companion Life Earns Industry’s ‘Superior’ Financial Rating

Columbia, S.C. – Companion Life Insurance Co. has received a financial strength rating of A+ (Superior) and a rating outlook of “stable” from A.M. Best Co.

“This rating is a reflection of our strong financial position and a commitment to sound business practices,” Companion Life President Trescott Hinton said. “We’re extremely proud of our continued financial strength and our ability to provide quality insurance products and a high level of service to our policyholders and marketing partners across the country.”

Hinton said an A+ rating and a stable outlook place the Columbia, S.C.-based company at the top of its industry.

According to a January 2013 A.M. Best report based on 2012 performance, Companion Life has grown its capital balance through consistent profitable operations and maintains a moderately conservative allocation of its invested assets, which have resulted in solid risk-based capital scores.
